A workshop repair may sometimes make a lot more sense than an onsite visit (and it's cheaper) in which case simply get your faulty Hp Designjet plotter to us and we'll put it through our workshop to diagnose and quote to repair. If you don't like the quote we give you then we only charge you a £35+vat quote charge.

Tips for HP Designjet plotter users

Moisture on the Designjet plotter

Users should use the printer in an environment between 20% and 80% humidity. To recover from moisture condensation, turn the printer off and monitor the main roller for signs of moisture before using again

Noisy carriage bushing

To prevent noisy movement of the carriage, remove aluminium or dust particles from the bushing at the back of the carriage and from the slider path along which the bushing moves

Cleaning the Designjet plotter

To maintain the printer in good operating condition, keep it free of dust accumulation, ink and other contamination. Cleaning intervals are determined by the plotter's environment and by the types of plotter supplies used

General Designjet plotter cleaning

Proper general cleaning should include the following;

Blow awa dust accumulation with compressed air if available
Clean the outer surface of the printer with a damp sponge or cloth. Use a mild soap and water solution if necessary. Do not use abrasive cleaners
Wipe the printer dry with a soft lint-free cloth

Preventive maintenance of your Designjet plotter

Normal usage means 7,000,000 carriage cycles which under normal usage takes about 5 years. The plotter counts the total number of carriage cycles and displays an error "Maintenance Advised" at which point preventive maintenance must be performed.
